Give and Take

What are these points for?

In order to encourage people to give, a point system has been set up.
When registering, you get 30 points
When giving an item, you can (but don't have to) attribute a value in points to this item.
When the item is taken, the item’s value (points) is transferred from the Taker to you.
You can also get points by leaving feedback after an exchange, inviting your friends and simply by connecting regularly to Give and Take!

Register: 30 points.
Give a point value to what you give: 10 to 100 points, those points will be attributed to you if somebody takes the item
You can also attribute 0 point to an item.
Leave feedback: 3 points.
Invite a friend: 5 points.
Visit the website: 1 point each day you visit.

When you give an item, you can decide to attribute points to it. The taker will need to have at least this amount of points to be able to take your item.
When your item is taken, the points you attributed to it are transferred from the taker to you.
This is to encourage people to contribute to the community and keep their giving rate reasonably balanced with their taking rate.
If you aren’t too fussed about contributing to the Give and Take community and just want to empty out your garage, we encourage you to allocate no points to your item. This makes the item much more likely to be taken!

Give and Take is not only about giving away and taking stuff, it is also about encouraging community values.
That’s why we encourage you to give feedback on exchanges, and we’ll give you 3 points points for doing so!

The bigger the community, the larger the listings!
So we encourage you to share your enthousiam for Give and Take, and invite your friends - which you can do from "My account" once you are logged in.
And you'll get 5 points for every friend that registers!

We don't want you to miss opportunities – so we encourage you to have a look on Give and Take regularly. You’ll even get 1 point point every day you visit the site.
